Nena Mack Bryan of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at 4:38 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Warsaw Meadows Care Center in Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 89.
She was born on July 19, 1931 in Ball Ground, Georgia. Nena was one of eight children born to Gracie Zora Bell (McCormack) Vaughn and Charley Franklin Vaughn. On August 1, 1953 she married Foster Mizell Bryan. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together and raised two children before he passed away.
Nena graduated from Canton High School in Canton, Georgia in 1947. In 1962 she began working for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta as a Public Information Specialist. She was always a very active church member in Snellville, Georgia and enjoyed her church family. One of her favorite pastimes was her love of travel. She moved to Kosciusko County, Indiana in 2014 and was a familiar face as a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Garry (Mary) Bryan (Etna Green, Indiana); and daughter: Karen (Chris) Shock (Atlanta, Georgia). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Nena will be laid to rest next to her husband at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, Georgia.
