Norman Wayne Coffman

Norman Wayne Coffman of Saugatuck, Michigan passed away at his son’s residence in Winona Lake, Indiana at 12:47 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the age of 83.

He was born on August 5, 1934 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Clifton Wayne Coffman and Rhea Mae (Olmstead) Coffman. 

Norman was a 1954 graduate of Howe Military Academy in Howe, Indiana and then attended the University of Toledo in Ohio.  He joined the U.S. Army in 1956 and was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1960.  He had been a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for 31 years where in 1962 he founded Warsaw Moving and Storage…operating it until 1993.  Norman then founded the Four C’s Charters in Saugatuck, Michigan retiring in 2016.  He was a member of the Grand Lodge Free & Accepted Masons of Michigan, a Shriner, and a member of the Community Church of Douglas in Douglas, Michigan. 

Norman was first married to Mickie Saldivar on May 25, 1957, and later divorced in 2006.  Together they had two sons:  Wayne (wife Tricia) Coffman (Naples, Florida); and Scott (wife Barb) Coffman (Winona Lake, Indiana) also a step-son Matt DeWitt (Zeeland, Michigan).

He was re-married on June 17, 2006 to Sarah Jean (Sneider) Coffman, who survives in Saugatuck, Michigan.  He leaves behind ten grandchildren: Dawn (husband Chris) Paris; Melissa Coffman; Cory (wife Elena) Coffman; Brittany (husband Paul) Miller; Zack (wife Megan) Coffman; Courtney, Haley, and Mercy Coffman; Carla Quintero; and Josh Thomas.  As well as ten great-grandchildren:  Jake, Brookelyn, Nicholas, Ashley, Evan, Kylie, Toby, Harrison, Stormy, and Vanessa.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Rosie Brickel also a grandson Stephen Brickel.       

Services will be announced at a later date.  He will be buried at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon, Michigan.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
