Obituary

Robert “Bob” Lee Clay of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 2:57 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 88.

He was born on June 12, 1935, in Warsaw, Indiana to Dortha Belle (Parker) Clay and Wallace Clay.  Bob was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County where he was a 1953 graduate of Claypool High School.  He went on to get his degree in business administration.

Bob had a great job as a car salesman at Menzie Motors.  One day he went to work and helped a lovely lady who was shopping for a car, and he ended up with a great wife.  Juanita Ann Franks got a great bargain that day and one year later she married Bob on June 12, 1960, which was his 25th birthday.  They were blessed with 59 years of marriage together before Juanita passed away on June 24, 2019.

He was a quiet man with a caring and wonderful personality.  He was great with people in his job in sales for Mutual of Omaha.  After 45 years of loyal service, he retired in 2012.  Bob and Juanita wintered in Florida for over 22 years and enjoyed spending time together.  Bob dearly loved his family, raising his children with his wife, sharing the joy of becoming grandparents and always made himself available when he was needed.  He was of Christian faith and was thankful for a life well lived.

He will forever be remembered as a great dad by his three sons, David (Mindy) Clay (Seymour, IN); Dan (Jody) Clay (Columbia City, IN); and Steve (Brandie) Clay (Taylor, TX).  Also surviving are five grandchildren; and his brother, John (Sharon) Clay (Warsaw, IN).  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Juanita Clay in 2019, and his brother Norman Clay.

Bob will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Juanita at a private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Doug Vogel.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be directed to Miller’s Merry Manor, 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, IN  46580.
