Robert "Bob" Hardin Obituary

Robert “Bob” W. Hardin of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 7:57 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital, Warsaw at the age of 82.

He was born January 29, 1941 in Gary, Indiana to Virginia Juanita (Smith) Hardin-Knight and Robert William Hardin.  Bob spent most of his childhood in Logansport and graduated from Logansport High School in 1958.  At the young age of 19 he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Barbara “Barb" Pickens and they were married on March 13, 1960.  They were blessed with 62 years of marriage.

Bob and Barb moved to Warsaw in 1963 to raise their family.  During this time Bob was active in Jaycees holding leadership positions.  He was also very involved with Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, serving as scout master, lector and mentor, and as parish council president during the church building.

Bob was committed to keeping his Logansport classmates connected by creating and maintaining many websites for the Logansport alumni.

Bob worked in transportation and logistics at Korth for many years and traveled as a distribution consultant. He then worked at Safeway door as plant superintendent. Later he worked as a customer account manager network administrator at ABC Industries before retiring in 1999.

Bob loved spending time with family and enjoyed each generation as they came along.  Bob's hobbies included model railroads.  He also loved to learn and was eager to keep developing computer skills. Bob was an early adopter of computers and was eager to continue expanding his self-taught expertise.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barb Hardin (Warsaw, IN); three daughters, Beth (Chip) Skipper (Warsaw, IN); Natalie (Dave) Waddle (Warsaw, IN); and Katrina (Steve) Courchaine (Indianapolis, IN).  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Devin (Damien Bobo) Hartzler (Indianapolis, IN); Aric Hartzler (Indianapolis, IN); Angela (Taylor) Bean (Warsaw, IN); Amanda Justice (Warsaw, IN); Michaela, Matthew and Andrew Courchaine (Indianapolis, IN); eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rob William Hardin III, and his brother, Anthony Michael “Mike” Hardin.
