Ronnie Lee Whitaker

Ronnie Lee Whitaker of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 7:29 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 71.

He was born on August 20, 1950 in Warsaw, Indiana to Jane (Allen) Whitaker and Lewis Whitaker.  Ronnie married his wife Brenda on October 2, 1982.  They shared 24 years of marriage together before she passed away on October 31, 2007.

Ron was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where he was a 1968 graduate of Pierceton High School in Pierceton, Indiana.  He had worked with his father as a professional carpenter for over 20 years.  The last number of years he worked as a self-employed carpenter prior to joining De Jager Construction Inc. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

He leaves behind two daughters:  Carri (Brian) Simpkiss (Indianapolis, Indiana); Julie (Chris) LaFollette (Bloomington, Indiana); four step-sons:  Brooks (Liz) Walls (Pierceton, Indiana); Breck (Trudy) Walls (Pierceton, Indiana); Blake (Paula) Walls (Pierceton, Indiana); Blair Walls (Pierceton, Indiana); and several grandchildren.  Also surviving is his step-brother:  R.D. Shepherd (North Manchester, Indiana); and his sister:  Linda (Mark) Crooks (Warsaw, Indiana).  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Brenda in 2007, and his step-brother, Delmor Shepherd in 2006.             

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery of Pierceton, Indiana and officiated by Reverend William Whitaker.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
