Sandra Kay Gray

Sandra Kay Gray of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with the Lord at 10:38 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 84.

She was born on October 10, 1936 in Akron, Indiana to Evelyn Cedonia (Kuhn) Krieg and Dale William Krieg. 

Sandra was a 1954 graduate of Akron High School in Akron, Indiana and has lived in Kosciusko County for the past 44 years.  She had her hands full raising six children and working full time jobs outside the home.  She worked for a number of years at Gatke’s, Chambers Electronics in Akron, and later she was a familiar face working at Kroger in Warsaw as a cashier.  Sandra was a proud Avon representative for 20 years, member of Life Changes Book Club, and past president of the Home Ec Club in Mentone, Indiana.  Sandra was also a caregiver for Seasons Home Care in Warsaw.  She loved being the organist at Akron Church of God and worshiping through her gift of music.  She did so much for everyone else, putting the needs of others first and providing for her family.  Sandra's heart always had room to give more and she will be dearly missed. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons:  Doug (Barbara) Jordan (Warsaw, Indiana); Kevin (Alicia) Gray (Middlebury, Indiana);  three daughters:  Sherry Gray (Elkhart, Indiana); Lori Haddan (Kingman, Arizona); Teri Jo Smith (Warsaw, Indiana); and her step-daughter:  Susan Thomas (Warsaw, Indiana).  Also surviving are her seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and her brother:  Stephen (Nancy) Kreig (Beaver Dam, Indiana).  She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Bill in 1996 and her brother, Kenton Krieg in 2021.           

Sandra’s life will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, 744 S. 325 E., Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor John B. Lowe.  She will be laid to rest at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
