Sandra “Sandy” Lee Bornes of Warsaw, Indiana passed away surrounded by her family at 2:53 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Goshen, Indiana at the age of 79.
She was born on November 20, 1941 in Oswego, Indiana to Wilma Emma (Shelton) Ringle and Marvin Emery Ringle. On April 1, 1959 at the young age of 17 she married the love of her life, William Robert Bornes. They raised three daughters and four sons, loved being grandparents, and shared life’s adventures all throughout their 41 years of marriage before he passed away on July 16, 2000.
Sandy was a graduate of Plymouth High School. Throughout her life she worked at various factories to help raise her family, her most beloved and important job was simply being Mom. She was a great cook and could feed an army. Cooking for those she loved was something she loved to do. Sandy loved to get outdoors and enjoy the weather by taking long walks. If she saw any of God’s creatures while she was out, well that just made her day. She had a heart full of love for all kinds of animals. One of her favorite pastimes was a good game of BINGO and her face would light up if she was a winner! Sandy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many…she will be dearly loved and missed.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Mischelle Bornes (Marion County, IN); Melissa (Brian) Grindle (Oswego, IN); Shana (Carlos) Arroyo (Goshen, IN); two sons: Jeffery (Polly) Bornes (Warsaw, IN); and Michael (Lina) Bornes (Warsaw, IN). She also leaves behind twenty grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and her two sisters: Marla Keefer (Rochester, IN); Janeal (Terry) Youngman (Frankton, IN). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons, David Aaron Bornes on November 1, 2001 and Nick Robert Bornes on September 18, 2015.
