Taylor “Jack” O. Price of Warsaw, Indiana passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior at 2:31 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at his residence at the age of 81.

He was born on January 17, 1940 in Hammond, Kentucky to Hubert Price and Ruby (Prater) Price Spradlin.  Jack was raised by his mother and step-father, Ted Spradlin.  Jack was part of a large family, never alone he always had the love and friendship of his six sisters and two brothers.

After high school, Jack served in the United States Air Force.  On July 13, 1965 at the age of 25, he married the love of his life, Betty Ward.  They raised a son and a daughter, shared the excitement and joy of watching their children marry and absolutely loved when they became grandparents.  Jack and Betty shared everything during their 55 years of marriage together.

Jack and Betty moved from Paintsville, Kentucky in 1965 and made Warsaw their home.  He worked as a lab technician at Uniroyal in Warsaw for 37 ½ years before he retired.  He was a longtime member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church where for the past 25 years he played in the worship band.  He loved worshiping his Lord and Savior through music, and he enjoyed sharing that gift while worshiping with his family and church family.

Jack loved music. In his younger days, he played lead guitar for 20 years in two local country and western bands. Many people over the years were entertained by the bands he played with, The Night Riders and Southern Rain.  Next to his love of music, he enjoyed working the earth and growing his garden.  In his younger days he liked to go hunting and fishing.  More than anything in his life he dearly loved his family.  Jack’s grandkids and great-grandkids were the apples of his eye.  His family was blessed to have had so many years with him.  He was a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother whose presence in their lives will be truly irreplaceable and forever missed.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife:  Betty Price (Warsaw, Indiana); son:  Greg (Pam) Price (Warsaw, Indiana); daughter:  Michelle (Jeff) Krueger (Milford, Indiana); four grandchildren:  Collin Price and Paige Price (Wilmington, North Carolina); Kaitlin (Paul) Steele (Nappanee, Indiana); Evan Krueger (Milford, Indiana); and two great-grandchildren:  Greyson and Oliver Steele (Nappanee, Indiana).  Also surviving are his two sisters:  Ginny (Jerry) Wiley (Paintsville, Kentucky); Claudia Lyons (Staffordsville, Kentucky).  He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters:  Malvinnia Baldrige, Evelyn Booth, Louise Rowland, Virgie Ward; and two brothers:  Junior and Doug Price.

Jack’s life will be celebrated with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 and officiated by Pastor Dave Cripe.  Those wishing to attend the graveside service, please meet at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana to be lined up for procession leaving at 1:50 p.m.
