Thomas "Tom" V. Howard

Due to the current guidelines regarding public gatherings because of the COVID-19 virus and safety concerns, please use good judgment in determining the length of your visit or if you should attend.  If six feet of social distancing is not maintained then masks are required for the visitation and service . There will be no congregating in the parking lot.

Thomas “Tom” Vincent Howard of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 8:02 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 65. 

He was born on December 27, 1954 in Warsaw, Indiana to Charlotte Arlene (Robison) McCleary and Lowell Bruce Howard.  

Tom was a longtime resident of Kosciusko County Indiana before moving to Indianapolis.  He was a 1973 graduate of Warsaw High School, then attended Ferris State College in Big Rapids, Michigan graduating with a Bachelors degree in 1977.  Tom worked in the accounting field for his entire life.  He was an avid sailor, he enjoyed sports, and was a referee in all major regional sports.  Tom loved being part of the game and never tired of spending his free time being a referee.  He loved his four sisters dearly and always looked forward to family gatherings.  His smiling face will be missed by his family and friends. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his four sisters:  Susan Howard (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio); Mary Lucht (Indianapolis, Indiana); Sally Howard-Schou (husband Peter Schou) (South Pasadena, California); Margaret (Todd) McCleary Gordon (Carmel, Indiana); and he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, and his brother Jimmie.           

Visitation will be held on Monday August 10, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Father Ryan Fischer officiating. Graveside services will follow at Oakwood  Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 1048 S. 325 W., Pierceton, Indiana  46562; or to Children's Bureau, Inc. 1575 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, Indianapolis, Indiana  46202 and would be appreciated by the family.
