Wesley Louis Schaefer of Silver Lake, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at 5:20 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2022 at his residence at the age of 78.
He was born on January 5, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Arlene Rose (Crandall) and Louis Schaefer. On February 23, 1974 he married Nancy Ann Burhop and they shared 48 years of marriage together before he passed away.
Wesley retired from Zimmer, Inc. in Warsaw as a programmer and metallurgist. He later worked for Wabash Valley Inc. in Silver Lake. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved fishing whenever he was able to, stock car racing, and traveling. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved to ride with his wife Nancy and his son in the sidecar of his Goldwing. More than anything he dearly loved his family. Wesley will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Ann Schaefer (Silver Lake, Indiana), two sons, Wesley Schaefer, Jr. and Jason (Sherry) Schaefer (both of Silver Lake, Indiana), and his daughter, Jennifer Jenkins (Dowagiac, Michigan). Also surviving are seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Joe (Cindy) Schaefer (Warsaw, Indiana), Frank Schaefer (Arizona). He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, David Schaefer.
Wesley’s family will mourn his passing privately, thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
